Town Planning

The Town Planning Network is open to anyone and includes people with interests in land use, regional planning, and urban design.

Allan’s a TSCF graduate now working as a town planner in Taranaki. Allan accessed the Catalyst webstore and found Side Walks in the Kingdom by Erick Jacobson—a ground breaking theology of urban town planning. Allan called a couple of town planning TSCF grads, Andrew in Whakatane and Shaun in Auckland and asked if they’d be interested in starting a reading group forum. Both were keen as both were knee deep in planning issues with their respective councils. The discussion forum they started here on the Catalyst site has mushroomed as over the next couple of months Christian town planners started hearing about it. Catalyst staff are working with the group and exploring the possibility of growing this ongoing conversation into some form of intentional network.
